Bernie’s Bait & Tackle, located in the heart of Sheepshead Bay at 3035 Emmons Ave., has been as icon in the local fishing community for some 50 years. Named for the original owner the shop has moved (only across the street and two blocks west) from the original location to accommodate a huge inventory of bait and fishing tackle.

Bernie's has a variety of name brand rods to choose from. Name brands include: G. Loomis, Shakespeare, Tsunami, Lamiglas, Penn, Shimano, Fenwick and many more. If you still can't find the perfect rod one of Bernie's expert custom rod builders will build one to your liking.

You will find Reels by Van Staal, Shimano, Penn, Accurate, Daiwa and Abu Garcia to name a few. If you need to tune up or fix up your old reels, Bernie’s has plenty of reel parts in stock for do it yourselfers and expert mechanics on staff for the rest of us.

Bernie’s always has the freshest Bait in season including Live Eels, Live Shiners, Live Worms (Blood, Sand, Red, and Earth), Fresh Bunker and a complete selection of fresh frozen baits.

                Fishing Licenses are issued daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

                           Directions:
East Bound on the Belt Parkway to exit 9A(Knapp St / Sheepshead Bay), make first right onto Coyle Street – go 1 block to Emmons Ave – make right - 3 ½ blocks to 3035 Emmons Ave (between Nostrand Ave and Harring Street)

West Bound on the Belt Parkway to exit 9 (Knapp St / Sheepshead Bay), go to first traffic light (Knapp St.) make a left turn go two blocks to Emmons Ave and make a right turn. Go 6 ½ blocks to 3035 Emmons Ave (between Nostrand Ave and Harring Street).
